About Us:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Accounting Clerk to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will assist with various accounting tasks, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in financial transactions and record-keeping.
About the Role:
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Administrative Assistant at our Chestertown, MD office to support our team with various administrative, contract, and HR-related tasks. The ideal candidate will have experience with Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Outlook, Excel, OneNote, Teams) and possess general knowledge of accounting and human resources. Construction experience is highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities:

Assist with the management of accounts payable and receivable, including the processing of invoices, payments, and receipts.

Track fuel usage and prepare detailed reports for management review.

Assist with some payroll tasks such as verifying deductions, making tax payments, etc.

Update and maintain human resources records, ensuring all files are current and compliant with company policies.

Handle credit inquiries, providing accurate and timely information as needed.

Scan and file documents, ensuring all records are properly stored and easily accessible.
Qualifications:
-
Proven experience as an accounting clerk or in a similar role.

Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping principles.

Proven ability to calculate, post, and manage accounting figures and financial records.

Data entry skills along with a knack for numbers.

Hands-on experience with spreadsheets and proprietary software.

Proficiency in English and in MS Office.

High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.

Ability to multitask and perform in a deadline driven environment.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.

Work Environment:
This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, scanners, printers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.
Preferred Experience & Education Requirements:

Relevant job experience in administrative support.

Construction industry experience is highly desirable.
Physical Requirements:
​The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets, and bend or stand as necessary.​

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
