Heavy Truck and Equipment Mechanic
MAIN FUNCTION: Perform maintenance and repair on Heavy Trucks and Equipment as related to the construction field.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

Review work orders with supervisor.

Have a general knowledge of equipment maintenance and be able to perform routine and scheduled maintenance services such as oil changes, lubrications and tune-up.

Have a general knowledge of hydraulics and make appropriate repairs and/or maintenance.

Tear down, repair and re-build faulty assemblies.

Complete preventive maintenance reports on equipment/trucks by inspecting belts, hoses, steering system, spark plugs, brake and fuel systems, wheel bearings and other potentially troublesome areas.

Have the knowledge and ability to test drive vehicles and test components and systems using equipment such as engine analyzers, compression gauges and computerized diagnostic devices.

Disassemble units and inspect for parts wear, using micrometers calipers and gauges.

Work independently and in a timely manner.

Must have your own tools.
OTHER DUTIES:

Maintain Cleanliness of work area.

Perform other duties as instructed by supervisor.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: 1 – 5 year experience preferable. Must possess or be able to obtain a CDL license.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to perform physical labor indoors and outdoors in all types of weather. Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test. Random drug testing is performed monthly.
