As we mark the 65th anniversary of David A. Bramble, Inc.’s operations in the DELMARVA region, we want to take a moment to reflect on our journey and express our deepest gratitude to each one of you. From humble beginnings in the late 1930s, David A. Bramble, Inc. has grown into a leading heavy civil contractor that competes for public and private projects, focusing on heavy highway construction, site work, utility work, and production and installation of hot mix asphalt.
Our founder, David A. Bramble, started as a truck owner and operator. His dedication and work ethic were honed during his service as an Air Force Pilot in the 8th Air Force during World War II. After the war, he ventured into the construction business, and by the early 1950s, he was running the company as a sole proprietorship. Over the years, we expanded our operations, entering the hot mix asphalt business in 1961. Our journey, over generations, has been marked by numerous achievements, including the successful completion of major highway projects in Maryland and Delaware. We have also been recognized for our quality paving, receiving the Sheldon G. Hayes Award for major highways in 1986, and numerous Maryland awards since.
Over the past six and a half decades, we’ve made asphalt, built roads, prepped sites, installed utilities, and built strong relationships, trust, and a reputation for excellence. Our success is a testament to the importance of the construction industry and the crucial role it plays in shaping our communities. The construction industry creates spaces where people live, work, and connect; transforming landscapes and improving infrastructure for the benefit of all. At the heart of this industry and this company is you. Your hard work, commitment, and expertise are the cornerstone of the Company’s achievements. Each project we’ve completed, and each challenge we’ve overcome, has been possible because of your knowledge, skill, and teamwork.
As we celebrate this milestone, we look forward to many more years of growth and success together. Here’s to building a successful future together, one project at a time.
